New work: Chautauqua Lake View, Route 86 Rest Area at Sunset
Welcome Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail and Walking Garden Earth visitors.
Painting Sale 10-noon everyday of the Open Studio Tour, $50 off all paintings.
Over the past six years, I have been completing a series of Plein Air paintings that celebrate the beauty and history of local agricultural communities. Through these works I have sought to capture the unique geography, weather patterns, and natural resources of Western New York. Increasingly conservation and sustainability issues have become central to my work.
2011 featured a month long painting expedition out west, Highlights include the Bad Lands of S.D., Yellowstone, The Grand Tetons, Garden of the Gods and the Great Sand Dunes N.P.
View works in the Travels Section.
2012 we are going to do a little time traveling. First stop, Primordial Ooze and the origins of life. Then we go Into the Garden, with the Painting a Day of flowers and the food we eat as they come into season. Quickly followed by Life in Extreme Environments, painting next to a super volcano. And wrapping it all up with Inside the Atom, big paintings about small things. Stay tuned.
